Who is eligible for education benefits?
You can get education benefits if you need education to be able to support yourself by working. Education benefits can be given both to vocational education and general education, if necessary.
How long can you get education benefits?
You can get the maximum educational benefit to three years of training full time. If you take part-time education, can be extended. You can get support for the necessary general education in addition to the three years. You can not get education benefits when you have achieved professional competence. How do you apply for education benefits?
You apply for education benefits in the form "Application for transitional benefits, child care benefits, education benefits and moving expenses for a single mother / father" found under the form in the right menu. Decisions
You get only a warning of the processing time. When the case is processed, you will receive a written notice of the decision.
If you move abroad
There is no educational benefit to education abroad.
You should always notify the NAV office if you move or intend to stay temporarily abroad. More on abroad under International in the right menu.
Report the changes
If you experience changes in income, family situation and / or job situation, or plan to stay abroad, it may affect the amount you get paid from the NAV. In such cases you must immediately inform the National Insurance office where you live.
